The Boston Celtics are the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. Had it not been for Kevin Garnett’s injury last season we would have been watching a rematch of the previous years championship game. That said, Kevin Garnett is the key for this team to try and reclaim what was theirs just 1 season ago. Sure they looked good with him on the sidelines but the Celtics will need their leader back on the court to excel in search of another ring. Rasheed Wallace was acquired over the off-season to take some of the load off of Kevin Garnett who is getting up there in NBA minutes since he has been playing at this level since months after leaving high school. No question his health is a priority and as they learned last year, and they need a healthy dose of KG for the playoffs so keeping him fresh will be a goal all season long. Home court will matter little to this experienced team that is returning Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce from their championship roster. This team knows how to win and will be watched closely all season to see how they respond to not being defending champs this year. The Celtics will make the playoffs this year and have an answer for Dwight Howard and the Magic who knocked them out last year. Both twin towers of Rasheed Wallace and Kevin Garnett have tasted success and once the postseason begins expect this team to be a favorite to be crowned in June. They have all the experience necessary and the hunger to prove to the rest of the league that their championship run of a year ago was no fluke.
